The work SILENT SPEECH, which was released in 1997 on the CD "Sound of Siemens" under "A MELODY GOES ROUND THE GLOBE", has a great significance for me. In the context of my large produced music for the 150th birthday of SIEMENS AG. it was only a small thing. In retrospect, however, I appreciate it very much, because it was my first meeting with the exceptional Chinese musician Wu Wei, who moved to Berlin in 1997 and with whom I have had a friendship and collaboration lasting 23 years (as of 2020). Since then we have created and premiered six sheng concerts, from Munich, Europe, to Kransoyarsk/Siberia, and of course Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Taipei.
In 1997 Andreas Weidinger, my co-author, was also significantly involved in the composition SILENT SPEECH. He established the contact to Wu Wei and was also responsible for the recording in the Traumton-Studios in Berlin. The main theme of the film music is "Fantasy for a New Age", which Wu Wei took up in part improvising. By the way, not only on the sheng, but also on other Chinese instruments like Lu Sheng, Ba Wu and Erhu).

Introduction: Das Werk SILENT SPEECH, das 1997 auf der CD „Sound of Siemens“unter „A MELODY GOES ROUND THE GLOBE“ veröffentlicht wurde, hat eine große Bedeutung für mich.
