The work "WUHAN 2020" was created on the occasion of the epidemic of the Covid-19 virus, when public life, transport connections and all cultural and sporting events came to a standstill in China since February 2020. It reflects in many ways the emotional life of the people trapped there: fear of an unknown threat, courage and the energetic willingness to fight against this stroke of fate, but also the hope that everything will turn for the better.
Due to the Corona-Pandemie the Worldpremiere was planned on 6th of march 2020 but postponed several times. Finally it took place 14th of august 2020 in Beijing with BSO Beijing Symphony Orchestra conducted by Li Biao...in full orchestration…

Introduction: The work "WUHAN" was commissioned by the Beijing Symphony Orchestra on the occasion of the epidemic of the Covid-19 virus, when public life, transport connections and all cultural and sporting events in China came to a standstill from February 2020 onwards. It commemorates above all the brave people in the megacity of Wuhan (Hubei Province), who were particularly hard hit by the epidemic and who accomplished great achievements such as the construction of a huge hospital complex in record time of only a few days. "WUHAN" reflects the emotional life of these people in many different ways: fear of an impending unknown danger, courage and the energetic willingness to fight against this stroke of fate, but then the hope that everything will turn out for the better.
