Enjott - graduierter Doktor der Philosophie und 1979-2012 Lehrstuhlinhaber an der Münchner Hochschule für Musik und Theater – hat auch eine Reihe Bücher und Essays geschrieben. In den 70ern und 80ern meist zu musikwissenschaftlichen Themen, dann mehr zu allgemein-kulturellen und ästhetischen Fragen. Seine vielbeachteten Handbücher zur Filmmusik (Handbuch Filmmusik I und Handbuch Filmmusik II) sind Standardwerke geworden. 2020 erschien im Allitera-Verlag als band 66 der Reihe "Komponisten in Bayern" (hg.v. Theresa Henkel und Franzpeter Messmer) eine Monographie ENJOTT SCHNEIDER, wovon einige Kapitel hier zum Download auch bereitstehen. "Die Kunst des Teilens. Zeit – Rhythmus – Zahl".
