DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN, Richard Wagners monumental stage drama with 16 hours is now reduced to a version of 120 minutes.... for puppet theatre! A stunningly event for the 70th birthday of AUGSBURGER PUPPENKISTE: The little puppets are making every effort to match ideally Wagners highlight of the operatic repertoire....naturally with help by dragon, horses and birds...
One Ring, two hours, three generations and the best of four operas in one night. A play about might, love and confused family circumstances, - this is the „Ring des Nibelungen“ from Augsburger Puppenkiste.

Introduction: With due respect to Richard Wagner and his 16-hours RING DES NIBELUNGEN Florian Moch created the libretto and Enjott Schneider created the music concept...in a two years working period. Hundred pages oft ext and hundred ideas round about this multifacated mammoth work have been selected and shortened. Result: A speech version without singing, but with a lot of underscoring and interlude music. This high percentage of music guaranteed to keep the operatic quality of Wagnerian music. The structure of leitmotive was carefully taken over. And a high quality selection of dubbing actors refine the acoustics of this outstanding production.
