A CD in cooperation with BR-KLASSIK (the famous classical department of Bavarian Broadcast): Bernardus from Clairvaux (1090-1153) the "uncrowned pope and emperor of his time" who brought the mysticism of Mary ) into play as an antipole to the mysticism of Christ. He also adored the wisdom of the nature and said: "Trees will teach you more things no man will tell you!
The soloistic combination of powerful organ and delicate flute in the "Bernardus-Fresken" reflects the dual nature of Bernhard von Clairveaux: outwardly he was a hard political strategist of medieTval Europe; inwardly he was a poet, permeated by love and Marian devotion.
The oratorio "Ordo amoris" contains brilliant texts in which Bernardus articulated his "order of love".

Introduction: Bernardus from Clairvaux (1090-1153) - the "white monk" and founder of the Cistercian Order - was the great figure of the 12th century. He was the "uncrowned pope and emperor of his time", who had rejected all episcopal dignities, who brought the mysticism of Mary (Marian Mysticism) into play as an antipole to the mysticism of Christ, who was therefore also called "Doctor marianus" and who, according to legend, had composed the continuation "O clemens, o pia, o dulcis Virgo Maria" of the "Salve Regina" in Speyer Cathedral. - Nevertheless, Bernardus was far removed from being a mere sentimental man remote from thought. Many of his letters, sermons, and writings (preserved in more than 15 volumes) anticipate the radicalism of Meister Eckart: for example, statements such as "For nothing you ask the bible for advice, rather ask experience," or "Trees will teach you more things no man will tell you!
The novelty of the Cistercians was the orientation towards love as the highest form of truth and knowledge of God. God is no longer just "Lord" and man his subject. God and the soul are partners who love one another.
The piety of Bernardus is affective, emotional and with an emphasis on the mind. It was a close step from the veneration of the humanity of Christ to the veneration of Mother Mary. His “Marienminne” was of ardent enthusiasm. By the way, this was in harmony with the new troubadour music and veneration of women.
The soloistic combination of powerful organ and delicate flute in the "Bernardus-Fresken" reflects the dual nature of Bernhard von Clairveaux: outwardly he was a hard political strategist of medieval Europe; inwardly he was a poet, permeated by love and Marian devotion.
The oratorio "Ordo amoris" contains brilliant texts in which Bernardus articulated his "order of love".
