Several compositions, mostly available on CD-recordings, were composed for special ensembles like THE SINGPHONIKER or SINGER PUR and of peculiar interest for highly trained soloistic male voices rather than for traditional choir ensembles. A version for mixed choir is also available.
These include works such as:
CHATROOM for 5 male voices and piano (2009) inspired by texts from the internet, composed for THE SINGPHONIKER
DIE NACHRICHT (The message) (In memoriam Tschernobyl 26.4.1986) for S A T T B B, composed in 2002 for SINGER PUR, premiered in 2005 at the Niedersächsische Musiktagen.
LIEBE UND LEID (Love and Sorrow). RÜCKERT SONG BOOK for soprano and male voices according to texts by Friedrich Rückert, composed in 1998 for SINGER PUR and an additional male choir.
GEMEINSAM EINSAM (Lonely Together), five love songs according to texts by Wolfgang Ramadan 1990, partly in Bavarian dialect, offers a contrasting pluralism of style, from heartfelt to groovy. Composed for THE SINGPHONIKER.
MORGENSTERN SONG BOOK. SEVEN POEMS FOR CHOIR 5 MALE VOICES AND PIANO, composed in 1986 for THE SINGPHONIKER and premiered in the Herkulessaal concert hall in Munich. A perennial favourite in concert programmes, the stylistic diversity from the anti-war song ‘Das Knie’ (The Knee) to the dadaist ‘Das große Lalula’ (The Great Lalula) continues to fascinate. In 2010 a version with orchestra came into being and was premiered on 12th May 2010 in Regensburg by THE SINGPHONIKER and the Regensburg University choir and orchestra.
VARIATIONEN ÜBER DIE LIEBE. FÜNF MINIATUREN NACH KONTAKTANZEIGENTEXTEN (Five miniatures with texts taken from a lonely hearts column) was composed in 1985 as a first collaboration with THE SINGPHONIKER and premiered in the Herkulessaal concert hall in Munich.
When ‘w. sucht m. für Liebe’ (female looking for male for love) unfolds into a ‘Tango dell’abbreviature’, there are no limits to the audience’s infectious enthusiasm. Vocal virtuosity is required on the highest level.
